ROSSVILLE -- Charles A. Edwards, 86, died Wednesday about noon in his Rossville home located on Rt. 7, Frankfort, after a long illness. He had resided in Fountain County until 1937 when he moved to Rossville where he was employed by Russell Stevenson. He was a member of New Liberty Christian Church. Mr. Edwards was born March 17, 1884, in Hendricks County. He married Mary Elizabeth Scott on June 28, 1903. She died in 1948. Surviving are two sons, Wilmer "Happy" Edwards of near Hillsboro and Orval "Jack" Edwards of Frankfort; two daughters, Betty Lou Edwards at home, and Mrs. Betty Lovell of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren, including Mrs. Melvin Summers of Hillsboro, and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Brown Chapel Funeral Home. Rev. Willard Graham will officiate. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
